Reaffirms Commitment to Advancing Global Women’s Health
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, D.C., November 6, 2024 — The Institute for Women’s Health (IWH) congratulates President Donald J. Trump on his re-election victory. Under his leadership, the Geneva Consensus Declaration (GCD) was launched in 2020, uniting nations in their shared commitment to advance the health and thriving of women and girls, strengthen families, protect national sovereignty, and reaffirm there is no international right to abortion. I was honored to serve in his administration as the first U.S. Special Representative for Global Women’s Health, where I had the privilege of laying the groundwork for this vital coalition, which now represents 39 nations and nearly 1.5 billion people globally.
As President Trump prepares for a new term, IWH is eager to continue supporting and expanding the GCD’s reach, working alongside his administration to implement policies that genuinely prioritize women’s health and thriving families around the world. We remain steadfast in our mission to empower nations with culturally aligned, evidence-based frameworks that reflect their values, free from ideological pressures, and look forward to collaborating with his administration on these shared goals.
